Jan-Feb 2014: Another brick in the wall

01_stbd_wall_slotted_s

Slotting starboard side pilothouse wall for ship bolts and cabin lights. This side is going much faster than the port side, having gotten the bugs out of the process.

02_stbd_laminated_s

Laminating the two plies. It's not as bad as it looks, really. I really hate the screw/staple and fill later method, especially when we have the clamps to work with.

03_fairing_s

Several steps later, fiberglass sheathing applied, imperfections filled and faired.

04_windshields_sink_s

Windshield wood is cut for both sides, countertop mockup behind, icebox casing in the background.

05_yearly_mast_inspection_s

Our yearly mast inspection in the rain. No critters living inside, all seems to be A-ok.

07_cleaning_up_beams_s

Cleaning up roof beams, almost time to install them. So exciting!

08_joinery_s

Mortices in port wall to interface with roof beams. Only twelve 2.5" stepped compound dovetails. Lots of hand work here!

09_shed_repair_s

We got killed in Jaunary and February by windstorms. This represents one of a handful of repairs we had to make to the structure to keep the rain out.

10_stbd_wall_s

First round finish paint on Stbd wall

11_nav_inlay_2

Inlay basis for the nav station. This is gonna be cool. Stay tuned as more details emerge

12_more_painting_s

Finish paint on port wall, icebox and LP locker. Will be good to be done with these!!
